I agree with the person who suggested iPhoto its vary easy but also vary little control. iMovie gives you a little more control, and that would also let you do a HDV slideshow if you are shooting and editing in HDV

ok so after i wrote my comment i began reading an artical in this months Studio Monthy Magazine and it actualy covered just this issue, and gave step by step instructions of what to do.

I sapose it is posible if you have VTR control whitch i have net seen with the Varicam or with a DVCProDH deck. You would need VTR cntrol because you have to log and capute the footage insted of just a capture now because if the timing is different it would throw the whole edit off.

Check out Flip4Mac (www.flip4mac.com) it might do it. ofcorce the best option is get the original on tape or ask them to output it in a quicktime mov

Well it depends on wether you are planing on capturing HDV or if you are going to use the HDSDI output on the camera to get full uncompresed HD footage. If youare just doing HDV then the firestore drive should be perfect. As for the full uncompresed HD, thats one thing that sets this camera appart from all other HDv cameras, while it will only record HDV to tape it also gives you the option to use the HDSDI out and record full HD to a deck or straight to a computer. Full HD is going to need some serious hard drive though (like the XServe)
