Use quick time & Pro to make a video from the images. Then bring that into FCP for your editing pleasure.

But just like FCP you want your your media to match your time line settings. So you do want to convert your media to DV or AIC codecs first.

[tad newberry] “I realize formatting in DOS yields the 4 GB limit on file size, so what happens if you’re trying to transfer a 10GB file to a DOS drive?”

You must mean Fat23 format. DOS is on old old old os not a drive format.

If you tried to copy a file larger then 4GB onto a Fat32 formatted drive you will get an error message saying you cannot copy the file to the drive. to get any file onto that drive it would need to be less then 4GB in size.

No I believe those are the only options for timeline settings.

“On this portion of the edit, we are using a G5 Quad core”
“how much time do you think it will take to transcode 200+ hours of footage to Prores 422”

With a G5 it gong to take a really really long time.

If there is any possible way you could move to a MacPro then do it. This would also give you the ability to move to FCP 7 and have access to the newer forms of ProRes.

You need to convert your files to a proper editing format before brining them into FCP to edit.

Keep in mind that FCE is limited to only the DV And AIC codecs. So all video files must be in those formats.

It would be better to use media manager to move your project to a new drive. Doing this will create a new project file that contains new correct links.

No the windows that the intercase has are still vary much Fal Cut Pro. The color sceem of the interface is similar to iMovie. But I would hardly call it an iMovie like interface.

As for all of your other questions, nobody really knows at this point.

No there is no way to for you to know Hornsby times someone plays a video after they have downloaded it on to there computer, iPad, iPhone etc.

The only way to do what you want would be to have the video stream on a website and then track the hits on the website.
