Short question: Is there any utility that will convert a simple final cut pro project to express?

Longer version of question: I have a very simple final cut pro project that I would like to give to a client of mine as a template for final cut express. It is basically just a png file with a cut-out transparency and then b-roll in layer under it with the idea he can insert an additional video layer between the two (green screen stuff). Is there a way to do this.

I think I already know the answer to both (no) but I am just double checking. Thanks in advance.

I don’t work with FCE, but if it could import XLMs, I would try that.

Keep in mind that FCE is limited to only the DV And AIC codecs. So all video files must be in those formats.

    That’s for export.
You should be able to import whatever stuff that your QT Pro can read.

No I believe those are the only options for timeline settings.

You are right Zane, what I mean is that you can import other kind of stuff, no just DV/AIC.

But just like FCP you want your your media to match your time line settings. So you do want to convert your media to DV or AIC codecs first.
