Thats called a kernal panic. There are numerous potential causes of kernal panics, both hardware and software. Because there are so many potential causes, I honestly suggest making an appointment at a Apple Store and having your machine looked at. Trying to trouble shoot a issue like his via a online forum is just not practical.

Well you haven’t really told us what you have tried other then do a clean install and update.
Have you checked with the manufacturer of the card to see if it is fully leopard compatible?

Archive and install, its is an option on the install disk.

You may not WANT to upgrade but you will NEED to because FCS2 probably will not even let you install in on a computer that does not have a 1.25 ghz processor.

Honestly I have had the best success with opening that ppt file with keynote and then reformatting it to the detentions of the video you are working with. Keynote also gives you the option of exporting it as a video file that way you can keep transitions and animations if you want.

That all depends on what format video you will be mixing it with. If it is SD the set the frame size to SD it it is HD then set the frame size to the proper SD size.

Why are you trying to de-interlace jpg files they are NOT interlaced so you cant DE-interlace.
I recently did a project for a doctor where al the txt he wanted used was in a ppt file, I simply opened it in keynote and exported it with video files that had all his animation and stuff in it. I also currently doing a DVD of a presentation given by a local historic organization and am simply taking the presentation file (this time it was already made in keynote) and adding in a recording of the narrator. And Im probably going to just add in the audio clips right into keynote, ket the pacing and then export me a video file that I can then make into a DVD.
I’ll even occasional use keynote to create simple motion graphics for any video project.
Keynote it a great tool for any FCP editor to have on hand.

Thats because your display settings are set to mirror instead of use it as a second display.

The computer will ALWAYS recognize anything you connect to the DVI connection as a display.

For that you will need a MacPro with a video in out card. It cannot be done like that on a MacBook Pro, like I said anything you connect to the DVI port will act as a display.
You can still set FCP to playback on the second display, that is not a problem. But keep in mind it t is a HDTV attached as a display, it will not function the same not give you fully accurate color representation like a pro video monitor connected to a video in out card.
For better color representation when using a MBP look into the Matrox MXO.

I think the best way to deal with the situation at your work would be to go in to the boss and explain the problems it is creating at work, explain that you are not in a position to fix the problem because you do not have purchasing power nor are you willing to break the law. Ask him to please remedy the situation as it is making you less productive.
Let him take the burden of the choice to be illegal if he chooses, but this way you are not the one that did the dead. That way if the scary men in the dark suits come knocking at the door, the boss is the one that they are looking for and he cannot say that he had no idea that one of his employees had done that.

OK I have at long last found a eSATA express card that uses a completely different chipset and driver. I have ordered it and will post once I get it to let you know if it works.
