Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Little Snitch

I’m working at an office with several machines all running the same copy of FCP, which is obviously problematic for network connections. Basically only one of us can be online and using FCP simultaneously.

A friend of mine recommended a program called Little Snitch to prevent FCP from connecting online. Before I install this on all the machines I just wanted to see…

Does anyone has any pro or con testimonials to share about using Little Snitch?

    Thanks in advance,
    JB

    Jeremy:

Are you serious? You are on the Cow asking how to circumvent the law by essentially pirating software? Wow.

Do you really expect working professionals to advise you on how to break the law? A lot of us here create product and rely on copyright laws to keep others from stealing and benefitting from our hard work. I for one am not about to tell you how to steal from someone else.

And request like this is why some software companies resort to using dongles to protect their software and cause a big pain in the neck for the rest of us.

I’ve got three networked systems that I use on a regular basis. Each of them is always doing something – encoding, capturing editing etc. But I’m a one-man-show, a single editor that like most of us is able to multi-task. If I want to run the same versions Apple makes sure I have three licenses. I wish they had a different policy, but that is the way it is.

Nobody is using pirated software here, nor does anyone intend to pirate software. We are using our paid-for, registered copy of FCP on a few machines. Not all the machines are used to edit constantly, at least not enough to justify another massive payment to Apple for another FCP disc. It’s annoying trying to determine who’s got FCP open while online, and I don’t think trying to eliminate this annoyance is unreasonable.

I’m just trying to smooth the workflow at the office (I’m not the boss here) and was wondering if anyone has experience using that program. No need to get all up in arms about it.
