[Paul Escandon] “It’s about as low level of a legal infraction that there is in my opinion – on par with a parking ticket or J-walking in my opinion”

If we’re talking about a college kid who downloads songs he can’t afford anyways, then I agree with you. But if we’re talking about a 50 person company in China that runs hundreds of copies of pirated software they use to make money with, then I think it’s just as bad as stealing a car. It all depends on the severity. In this guy’s case, wanting to use Compressor on one un-manned machine while editing on another, I don’t think that’s exactly the worst thing in the world. But his initial post was just plain tactless and dumb IMO. He might as well have started a topic asking what people’s favorite weed is to smoke while editing.

    Nice flame war ; )

Just to put discussion a bit more on topic

    1) Little Snitch is not by any means illegal. Amout of information programs are trying to leak through your network may be considered more illegal by some.

    2) No, it does not stop FCP from detecting license breach, as by default it allows all local traffic to be passed through (those rules can be disabled though).

    peace.

Yikes!!!! Let’s not compare him to Nazis… that’s going too far. I’m all about having legitimate licenses but those that don’t aren’t Nazis… settle down doggy.
