Let me better under stand this you tried exporting a video that was 1 frame per second and you feel the file size is to big?

Yea that version of after effects needs a much newer OS. Also AE needs some good computer speed to function well.
Again I recommend the money you were going to put into upgrades and put that toward a newer used computer.

Yea powerpoint has some big issues with video.
Because you are editing in FCP that tells me you have a mac. Do you have Keynote on that mac. Keynote it by far the BEST presentation software I have ever used. If you have keynote open the PPT file with it (yes keynote can open and save PPT files). if your wife is unable to use keynote for the presentation then I would still use keynote to create it and then export a quicktime that will stop on each slide and only continue once you press play again.

From your other post I gathered that you are not even running OS X, let alone 10.3 or 10.4
Every USB wireless device I have seen requires at least 10.3.
Because you come from a PC world let me explain things like this. Basically you are trying to put Windows Vista on a computer that was built to run Windows 95.

I don’t recommend doing it. The components in your computer were just not built for it.
I say that your money is better spent on buying a newer used computer.
Another thing to keep in mind is that your computer is so old that if anything breaks, it will probably be cheeper to bet a newer one then fix it.

What versions of those applications?
What version of quicktime are you running?Also it is always recommended to do a clean install (erase ad install) when you move to a new OS. Less problems that way.

Try using a h264 file, but if you do make sure her PC has the most up to date version of quicktime.

crucial.com or kingston.com should both let you choose your model computer and then tell you what the max ram is.

v5.0 or v5.1? If it is 5.0 then that version is not compatible with Intel machines, and a MacBook Pro is an intel machine.

Quicktime Pro already comes with the Final Cut Suit so there is no need to purchase that, besides QT Pro dies not come with any additional codecs only output and saving options.

First check his version of FCP. If it is 5.1 then reinstall, if it is 5.0 then do upgrade to a version that is compatible with the intel processor in his computer.
