Walter is right, you sold the software, therefore you have no longer have the right to use the SN from the old software.
You will ether need buy a new copy of the full studio, or find a old version that you can purchase, in order to have a legal copy.

Set ichat to automatically launch on start up, then you will need to set up this auto accept for screen sharing.

Thats because to lay something to tape in HDV it must already be in HDV.

Create a HDV sequence and nest the other one in it then render, you should hten be able to lay to HDV tape

Well I certainly notice a difference here. With out it compressor only sends things to one or the 2 cores.

If info on what the new Final Cut Studio will do apple.com has plenty of info on that.
If you have some specific questions please ask, as one could wright pages on what the new features in the studio bundle will do (and there is quite a more then what Bill says).

Some trouble shooting questions for you Justin.

How much ram in the old one and how much ram n the new one?

Have you set up a virtual cluster for allowing compressor to use ALL the cores in the processor? You easily could have done that on the old one and not have don’t it on the new one, that would make a IIG difference.

Before all of those other things, WHAT CODEC IS YOUR TIMELINE?
If you are editing in a DV codec then that is most likely the problem. The moment you render ANY graphic in a codec program its going to look bad.

I have an FX1 which is close in size to your camera and I use this and LOVE it.
I removed the front handle and just keep right hand in the camera hand strap on the controls and place my left hand up near the lens. To hands plus your shoulder gives you 3 points of contact and makes the camera much more stable.
And because you have 2 cameras you should have one stationary on a tripod that will give you basic coverage that you can cut to when needed, like if you need to move with the mobile camera. Your stationary camera on the tripod is also the camera that you feed the audio from the sound system into because you dont want a cord running to the mobile camera.
