Now is this flash drive going to be only used on a mac or is it also going to be used on a windows computer. This is important because by default flash drives come formated FAT32, this for mat can be read by both windows and Macs however there is a file size limit associated with the format. So if the file os going to be larger then 4GB then you will need to format the drive differently to accommodate the larger size. The issue here is that the other formats that will accept larger files are ether windows only or mac only. You can however purchase some 3rd party software for windows that will read the mac formated drive.

A mpkg file is a standard apple install package if your computer cant run it then there is probably a problem with your OS.

DV and HDV file sizes are the same for the same lenth of video so you gain nothing by doing an offline in DV then onlining in HDV.

If you are running leopard on the PPC then you can try it, as 10.5 is Universal (I have booted PPC and Intel Macs off of the same external boot drive)
Keep in mind that if the new machine requires a newer build of the OS then you will have BIG ISSUES (and by build I do not mean 10.5.5 or 10.5.6 etc, there are different builds of the OS for newer machines even though they are the same version of the OS).
Like the others said DO NOT MIGRATE that is asking for problems when it comes to pro apps. With out pro apps then it is fine.
I am a big fan about starting fresh with a new machine. That way you don’t run the risk of something janky being brought over from the old system.

Sounds like the update didn’t download right. Try manualy downloading the installer from apples website and use that to run the update.

Yes I actually know several people that want a matte finish iphone. Thats why there are screen protecters that have a matte finish on them.
