Blurry Live Type text
When I go into Live Type and create text and then save it to my desktop and then go into FCP and import the text… double click the clip, it pops up in the view slug clear as a bell, but then when I bring it down to my time line, render it… it looks blurry in the Canvas window and thus DVD (FCP text looks blurry as well, that’s why I use Live Type). So… what am I doing wrong?

What are your sequence settings?
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity! -
the canvas is a low rez sample of your rendered output. You must view the full rez, interlaced output on a television monitor not a small computer display.

Also, beware if your frame size in Live Type does not match your timeline (e.g. 720 x 486 vs. 720 x 480). This will soften your graphics.

720×480FCP is SD 720×480
I’ve had my films on the big screen and titling was still blurry. Embarrassing. Cool film, but blurry text.

720×480 “Is this a typo? The CCIR 601 preset should be 720 x 486. The dimensions you state (720 x 480) are for DV-NTSC. If you mix them up, FCP will resize the text causing softness.
Sorry if this isn’t your problem. Trust me, Live Type should be creating sharp looking text.
