not from what i here, i use fcp alot, and i use a.e., i completlly sidestepped motion…haven’t touched it…been meaning to, but with somuch in aftereffects, and this practicly impossible cartoon tutorial, it’s not on my list of “to do’s

id go for the 7 upgrade, it’s very clean and smooth and i want it myself..but unless someone feels like starting a donation tin for me, it’s not about to happen

ok, so i re rendered it all through illustrator. and it worked perfectly for the first two (kinda but ill get to that) the lines when rendered droped roughly 36 frames, i went through and rendered them in groups of 1 to 4 images at a time, replaced the missing ones.

so i load it into a.e. and and the color set is straight black, no color, no shades of black, just black, so i check it in illustrator, no go, what happened?

very much agreed, youll have to render twice, and it sucks, but it looks the best, by far, one thing to watch out for, and i recomend doing it, bring in your audio to a.e. and render out (ive had several problems that cost me about 8 hours the day before a deadline, inwhich the audio was playing at 29.97fpsin fcp while the footage was 30(mind you i rendered out at 2997…over ten min, its off…way off

    i think it’s a 1 time thing but i dont trust it

its a pain, im sorry, until motion is flunked and premear is dumped as well, there won’t be a cross ap protical

you mean it puts the 2 black bars at top and bottum

2 ways to solve, and it depends on when it’s happening, does it happen once it’s rendered out (as in fin in a.e. but you check your “movie” afterwords and it’s letterboxed) or is it letterboxed once brought into a.e.

if it happens in ae, mask off the letterboxes and youll have nothingness,

if it’s in your render, check your comp settings and your final rendersettings to make sure your 16×9

March 22, 2006 at 8:38 pm in reply to: MacBookPro and AE7 vs G4 Laptop?

im using my g4 with 6.5 and from what i understand of rosetta, it’s basicly a way of getting consumers to buy the computer because they nwon’t know the difference when running there consumer producs, us “pro-sumers” (a new fav. word of mine) see it and laugh, apple is pushing universalism through there products asap, but other companies don’t see the rush. (maybe there wouldn’t have been a rush had apple informed adobe while they were making 7.0 it seems that with adobes massive overhall the switch wouldn’t have been so hard.

but apple didn’t and so, i still use my g4 laptop, while the macbook pro’s creep along, my renders take for ever, but now i can point and laugh at the new macbook and say haha your so pretty but so slow…just like a blond.(spent to much time in the cowmedy club)

so short answer, dont get it with expectations of getting on the road soon

long anser, g4’s are cheaper now, get a ram upgrade, and get second monitor or (if u get a 15 or bigger) an svideo cable and use any tv with ansvideo jack (or if your on a 12, like me, get the converter)

all i know is fcp+mac=brain of it’s own,

ive had the craziest things happen with final cut running, in multiple programs, and only with fcp running, ive had safari reverse every single favorite on my bar, ive had every thing in my fcp timeline move back 3 second in the top 2 layers and 2 frames forward in everything below

i refuse to run a.e. with fcp open unless it’s something simple.

if you don’t have fcp open, id go with dave and say restart, or start your camera from scracth (if the previus isn’t it)

i think the better soultion (for the original idea of rendering only at the office) is simply using and external hd, rendering from the harddrive, and then dragging a copy onto the computer, boom done, no aep, the plug in idea has many legal flaws, like use rights, corprate computer policies etc.

if your working there..well as said your aep is theres as all the work was on there machine, as aposed to rendering there to save time..they obviusly aren’t using the computer and your not doing any work there other then the rendering (which isnt very creative)
