it occors to me, that compressor (most people view it as usless, and it really is alot of the time) might beable to make a program or “drople” (emphisize quotes because honestly…who thinks these names up, i mean droplet i sware steve jobs passes around more then knowlege that he got from berkley if ya know what i mean [and im ranting again sorry]) but any wy a compressor “droplet” could possibly be created to take footage A and convert it into flagged anamorphic footage, in a seperate folder, compressor is a confusing program but from what ive seen and understood of it, it might beable to do such a thing, where you drop the a.e. footage in a folder and it converts it and puts it into another folder ready for you to use.

or i could be completly off, i dunno ask the fcp or compressor guys

i think your looking for stock footage, and if so, please tell the rest of the world where we can get free footage, i mean the national archives (if your in the u.s.) is free footage, so is anything filmed of the president or the military, doesn’t matter if you record it off cnn, it’s still fare use.

but for portfolio reasons, create your own things, if people see it they assume you did it or were involved.

just what ive learned from experience.

on the same hand since it’s not comercial use, you may beable to umm well “use” with out permission such footage if you can find it, just be careful, it’s a lawsuite hungry world, heck, if i saw my footage getting you a job, id sue…heck ive got college loans

but good luck hopefully some one has someting that will lead you to what you want/need.

set it as the default in your fcp timline, i beleive that should do it. could be wrong but it’s either in fcp prefrecnes or user prefs

thats one way or try copy and pasting your text eliments into aftereffects text but for starters make your width in photoshop no wider then your actual comp (scaling length accordingly) that will help alotcurrently your ‘image’ is far to large to be anything in a.e. but make it the proper size and it should work, then import it to a.e. and animate it as you wish, remember the resolution of anything larger then your actual comp won’t appear anymore crisp then it would at proper size, you’ll have to scale that down anyways to fit correct

    hope this makes sense

ok so reverseing is awsome but adjusting the the first vertex wont work if you use a circle mask, aparantly the first vertex is un setable, the option won’t come up, what im trying to do is have a rendered “bolt” of lightning move around the edge of a crice by setting the start and end points follow around the circle, either that or have it roughly (as the lightning moves etc.) grow around the cricle, have the end point stay at 12 o’clock and the start point go entirly around it with out it going strait across

well one thing yo could do is make your composition 1 frame long (ie only one image) and the size you would like. then from there make a movie (comand m on an apple, control m on a windows comp) render it as a photo jpeg, and render it out it will render 1 frame as a jpeg and there you go, what bugs me is there is no create or make freeze frame, like in fcp if there is i don’t know about it, which isn’t saying much

hope this helps and or makes sense

March 7, 2006 at 1:34 am in reply to: tv screen effect

wow, this sowns like shamless promotion, but i discovered these plugins the other day, https://www.petewarden.com/ one of the FREE plugins has a tv pixles options,

this should create what your looking for, more of a moderen tv aproach rather then aharons (fabulous) tv tutorial, which is worth it for the glair idea alone, but when zoomed in won’t looks like a real tv, perhaps a combinations of the two?

then using either pet wardens fisheye, or sphereize, you can get teh matrix effect of surface tension throught eh tv as the camera “pushes” through into the matrix tv center.

    hope this helps
