  • could be a couple things.

    1. restart your computer
    2. delete prefs (FCP)
    3. check your render settins in final cut, and make sure your frame rate is correct.

    4. open the video with quicktime and hit command “i” or control “i” to make sure the frame rate is correct.

try those and get back to us.

also make sure that you use, motion blur (four little circles next to the 3d square) click that on every layer including your null. unless your using extremely high quality pictures, when you are close to them they will look like poop. add the motion blur will give a sense that it was shot with a real camera.

? Animating the (xy position) faster to the point that you want particles to be thrown. After the fast move to the point, put two keyframes one that has your particles/sec points you want and then after that, keyframe one that is zero.

(if you want particles to not be show at any other time other than the move where they are thrown.)
Put a hold on your particles/sec (right click the key frame/ keyframe interpolation / under temporal interpolation click hold. set two keyframe one with zero and the other with however many you want.

another way would be to make a mask for it, click on your layer, hit ctl+shift+N feather your mask out and animate it. this would give you more control later if you needed it.

put your pictures in Z space, tick the little square on your layer, and push your pictures back. make a camera and a null object. pick whip the camera to the null and then make your null 3d (tick the little square) then all you have to do is animate the null object on the z axis. each of your picture will reveal themselves when the camera passes over them. after you get that set up and keyframe your cameras path (keyframing the null, do not touch the camera) you can make text. copy the position of the picture you want text in front of and paste it on the text that you created, then just move the text on the z out a little.

after you tick the square on the layer your wanting to make 3d, hit (P) that will give you position. it’ll look like (1,2,3) the 3rd number in this case the number 3 is the z axis.

This is for a live action composite. a good flicker of it coming on would be nice, and a small little flicker as it’s on would be cool. it’s only about a 3 sec shot.

Why wouldn’t you use a tube object and hypernurbs. Just make a tube with fillet on, lower the segments, drop it under hypernurbs, make some looping knife cuts if you need it more squared. and as for the tapering. just select the bottom half and modify the scale. This way, you can also model the part where the diamond is held within the same object.
