Precompose your layer (be sure to choose “Move all attributes into the new composition” so that the masks go INSIDE the new precomp), then apply the CC Light Rays effect to the new precomp layer.

Try the 3D Glasses effect. Use the same layer for both the left and right views. Use the “Balanced Color Red Blue” 3D View, increase the Scene Convergence, and adjust the Balance to taste.

What kind of file are you importing that’s giving you trouble? Does the same file always fail? If Ae can’t understand the audio, I wonder if you might need to transcode it with a third-party application like ffmpeg.

Make sure you get the delivery specs from the technical team responsible for playing back the media. Delivery format, codec, frame rate, and file naming can all matter. When in doubt on any of the specifics, ask that team — every system is different and we can only guess here.

You should double-check the audio specs; some systems cannot handle 24-bit audio.

Everything else looks good. ProRes 422 HQ does require a significant amount of space.

I’d personally approach this with RE:Vision Effects’s RE:Map [link]. You could pretty easily build a procedural UV map with a few gradients and Mosaic effects.

How about using Premiere’s multicam sequence as you describe, then flattening it, saving, and importing the Premiere Pro project into After Effects?
