100% fixed in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This was one of my biggest pushes on the Adobe team during the CC development.

Actually the view order has been completely re-done in CC. Can pretty much put them in any user defined order you like.

[Chris Brown] “Everything was fine (a little slow at times) until we decided to invest in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. It seems that PP doesn’t like shared storage very much and we’ve had problems with spanned clips (from a C300) not arranging themselves properly once ingested.”
Zero problems here with that using both 1Gig and 10Gig connections off our Small Tree NAS. 7 primary workstations and a dozen or so secondary computers.
We did a television pilot a few months ago all C300, 7D and BMCC. Didn’t have a problem with any of that. All ingest done via the Media Browser.

If it was a decent movie, maybe they would. Trailers are horrendous. I think folks who actually pay to see it are just more curious how they were able to shoot inside the park rather than the movie itself.
By not saying much at all, the film doesn’t get much play in the news. If they were fighting the film loudly in court, it would be all over the news and more people would actually pay to see it. I’m sure there are some quiet things happening in the background, such as pressure by Disney on theaters to not show it or run the risk of being cut out out on Disney / Pixar releases. Much quieter and easier for Disney to do than a public lawsuit.

[Bob Cole] “I’ve been struggling with giving my clients the appropriate delivery formats for videos they will be playing at live events, usually from laptops. I do not know what OS, speed, software, etc. they will be using. “
I always ask the clients for the specifics of what will be used in the venue. Either they get the answer from the technical folks or they put me directly in touch with the company running the event, which is what we actually prefer and recommend.
Then we usually just output two files. One 720p and one 1080p using the specs given to us by the event company so they can choose which of the two formats displays best in the venue.

If these people are your bread and butter you need to do a better job staying in touch with them.
Dropping an email at least once a month to say hello is a good idea. Especially if you have a common interest like sports where you can use a game or an event or even a good dinner to say “Hey, was watching the game last night, did you see that play so and so made? That was awesome! Hope you’re doing well!” Or, “I know you love so and so cuisine, have you checked out XYZ on 5th street? Incredible!”
Something as simple as that keeps you on the radar and when the person moves along, they might drop you an email and take your contact info along. Short of hiring a Marketing Director, which I finally did this year, you need to take it upon yourself to stay in touch. Especially if these are your bread and butter……

Last I checked, they started at $250,000
As for the viewing through streaming, I might stream the pre or post film discussion after the fact, but probably not the film itself. use it as a marketing tool to get folks to come see the film or order it later. Forget DVD, look to go through Netflix or Hulu if you really want to get eyeballs on the film after distribution.
