Adobe apps are fine.
Check with your plug-in folks though. Red Giant for instance is not ready.

Turner Broadcasting / CNN is moving to CC.
We move our entire operation to CC as soon as it started.
BBC moved to Premiere Pro two years now I believe, not sure if they followed over to CC or not.
Beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess. I would suggest you look through press releases on the Adobe website. They’re always pushing out stories on folks who are using PPro for productions. That’d be your best bet on getting a gauge on the adaptation of CC.

No, you just need to purchase Motion for $49.99. This will install the ProRes codec on your machine. At least I think it still does. Then you can convert the media to ProRes.
Then export the XML and you open the project in FCP 7.
Or you send the project as is to the FCP 7 editor and they convert the file for you on their end.

Don’t you have to install every missing features everytime you need to make queuing?”
All of our systems are matched up, same software and plug-ins. I have no idea how to force Premiere to render on a completely different computer without having everything installed.

You just need a simple shared storage solution so both computers are using the same media array. Just open the project on the second machine and it will be looking at all the same media assets. We do this same scenario in our shop all the time. 6 workstations all sharing the same RAID so we can render on the faster machines.
You can also do this with just two machines.

We will give an estimate only with something like “Client is responsible for all travel costs associated with this project. At this time we anticipate those costs will run between X and Y. Actual costs will be billed at the conclusion of Travel.”

Sometimes, depends on the client and what we anticipate the budget level will be. The 10% Production Fee is pretty standard on all our contracts.

I love assumptions like this. Well Quicktime might only be 8bit in CC so immediately it’s unprofessional for delivery.
I’ll say we’ve been delivering to PBS, NBC News, ABC News, SkyNews and more for the past two years with projects that are mastered directly out of PPro. So I’m going to say Yes, It’s Professional.

From what I gathered it was not a simple fix. Something had to be done under the hood that was beyond just a simple bug fix.
Whenever I need precise controls in CS6 I just switch to a mouse. The Pen is good for about 90% of my work in CS6.

One of the coolest things about Small Tree is they’ll be happy to chat with you on the phone about your setup and what might be the best and most inexpensive way for you to move forward. They sell all the components individually so maybe all you need is a small switch or a card or something else to get you moving along better. These guys are really the best at this, drop them a line or give them a call and tell them I sent you.
