I’ve definitely started renders only to hit myself on the head and have to redo. As of latest beta they introduced a preset pulldown but these seem canned presets for FCP so far, and I didn’t see a button to save your own into there.

Now, you could use Batch Requests I think for this, sort of. If you make a batch request for a session, and then click on it later, its settings will be loaded into Render Properties. You can click, then render as normal.

This may happen if you had an extra monitor connected before, and placed the scope on that monitor, then disconnected it. Resolve still remembers it as being on that other monitor, even after restarting the application.

Doing it by hand at the moment, with an HDLink – not ideal by far but I can get it fairly close.

Actually, if anyone has any experience with calibrators in the New York area I’d love to know. From everything I saw on this forum and otherwise, Plasma benefits from a non-contact probe like the hubble and I haven’t seen one advertised as used when I was looking around.

Hmm, thanks for explaining that. I’ve always wondered that about mine. The problem I find with plasma banding is it always creeps up in skintones and the client sometimes asks why it’s there.. But you’re right, it does have many upticks.

How’s the view angle on a Dreamcolor? One of the reasons I like the plasma (with all its problems) is the image is pretty much identical no matter where in the room you look at it. Good for a couch full of clients.

That has been my experience. It makes for a good client monitor but does drift over relatively short amounts of time.

You may want to make sure you’re on the latest version, the Espresso feature’s been added to the render window 🙂

This is very cool Josh. You’re a pioneer of alternate controls for DaVinci!

Interestingly enough I have tried a lot of things (G13, iPad w/ KeyPad pro) for extra buttons but now I’m back to the keyboard. I’ve recently repositioned my keyboard on a tray right below my wave, so hand travel distance is minimal. And I’ve found a lot of times it’s just as quick for me to hit a 2 button shortcut on the keyboard than to peck out 1 key on a tactile-less touchpad or even press a key on the G13.

That’s an interesting idea – does it ever become an annoyance that every time you perform one of those shortcuts, the page changes because you pressed the up or down key?

That’s interesting, what’s the reason for this? Is it a limitation of the Red SDK?
