Do you mean with a flattened timeline, you don’t have this issue? Only happens on a multi-layer render?

Could you see if this still happens in v8.1? It has a few fixes in that area.
Danny,
Are you using v8.0 too?

Hi Peter,
Each user can have a different config saved as the default. So any new projects created by that user start with that config, unless manually set to something else. In a single operator scenario, you might want to use different users for different default configs. Of course, you can do the same by having multiple configs associated with a single user and choosing the one you want for each project.
The admin user can create a system default config which becomes the default config for any new users created.
One other use of multiple users is to organize projects. Instead of having all your projects under a single user, you could have related projects stored under one user such that each user has a more manageable number of projects. That would make it easy to browse and access.

Is this a repeatable problem? Could you send the following to davincihelp at blackmagic-design.com?
1. Captured log file
2. Exported project

Hi Robert,
On the Config page, there is a Source tab. On that you can select which timecode you want to use for your RED clips. There are 3 options – Camera, Absolute. Edge. When in Camera mode, it uses whichever of Absolute and Edge was chosen as default on the camera.
Note that this needs to be set before browsing to/adding the RED media into the media pool. If you are looking at RED media in the media browser when you change the time code setting, you should refresh the folder for the media to be displayed with the new setting before proceeding to add it to the media pool.

I guess you’re referring to the PostgreSQL start/ stop icons. Unfortunately that’s part of the standard database installer 🙂

Hi Rick,
Please read this older thread about a similar problem.

Could you try to run the commands suggested by Rohit there?

October 5, 2011 at 7:49 am in reply to: 45 minute timeline takes 4 hours to render at 25fps!?Hi Ola,
How many frames did it say it was rendering?
Did you have any variable speed changes in your project?

Hi Erik,
A few things to note:
1. The LUTs exported with the project are meant to handle project wide LUTs (specified on the config page). So currently, node based LUTs are not exported even if you select the LUTs option while exporting.
2. If you need to use the LUT as an input LUT on all clips, instead of applying it on the first node of each clip, it will be simpler if you select the INPUT LUT on the LUT tab of the config page. This will apply it on each clip before any color correction from the node graph. This will also ensure that your exported project has the LUT file in it.
If you need to selectively use LUTs on certain clips (by specifying it on the first node) and still wish to have the LUT exported along with the project, a work around would be to apply the INPUT LUT from the config page, save the project, export+ and then upon importing, go to the config page and turn off the input LUT.

September 29, 2011 at 8:14 am in reply to: Can’t delete a project: “The current database has a problem” error!Hi Fred,
You can capture logs using the Capture Logs application in /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVInci Resolve/. Running the app will create a log file on your Desktop. You may email them to davincihelp at blackmagic-design.com. Please capture logs after the problem happens, and before restarting Resolve.
