  • Can’t delete a project: “The current database has a problem” error!

Posted by Robert Glanns on September 28, 2011 at 6:56 pm

I was doing some housekeeping on my Project List this morning, and have run into a problem where one particular project refuses to delete. I get an error message saying:

“The current database has a problem. To continue, you should contact your system administrator to restore the operation of the current database or connect to a different working database.”

When I click the “Ok” button to dismiss the error dialog, Resolve hard-quits.

The project in question has no problems loading, saving or exporting. And the project is not locked, either.

What can I do to delete this project?

I had the same problem, but no error messages, just the “hard-quits”.

    Hi Robert/Fred,

If you could capture logs when you see this issue and send them to us, we can take a look and see what the problem might be.

    Thanks.

    Hi Fred,

You can capture logs using the Capture Logs application in /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVInci Resolve/. Running the app will create a log file on your Desktop. You may email them to davincihelp at blackmagic-design.com. Please capture logs after the problem happens, and before restarting Resolve.
