Ever buy the big jar of Jelly Bellies from Costco? They never seem to taste right. I kept eating and eating, trying to find one to take the wierd taste out of my mouth but couldn’t do it.
Good thing I bought that huge bag of Hot Tamales. 🙂

August 3, 2006 at 3:18 am in reply to: Need help fixing HDV1080i and DVCPROHD 720p60 source footageHave you tried MPEG Streamclip to do a conversion instead of using FCP? Might be worth a shot.
Also, not sure if it would work, but if you have an HD capture card, can you capture the analog out of the HDV as DVCProHD?

I meant I hated the duplicate the audio on a new track solution. I forgot it’s hard on here to tell exactly what I’m responding to. the other ideas are good.

I hate this solution. Too easy to cause a phase problem and then have no audio on export.

just because the clips are online doesn’t mean they don’t need to be rendered. It may just mean they are only playing at a lower resolution/frame rate for preview purposes, and need to be rendered for output.

Panasonic did the same thing with both the DVX100 and the HVX200.
Not quite 8 weeks, but definitely not speedy.

I haven’t actually done it yet, but from what I’ve been able to research, as long as you do not add anything to the file that would cause you to re-render, the closed captioning will stay in tact. FCP can’t access or read the captioning, but it won’t alter it, unless you render.
So a straight dub should, in theory, work. Like I said, I haven’t tried it, but people say it works.

February 23, 2006 at 9:59 pm in reply to: Audio clicks & pops from FCP through AJA IoLA – not there until the AJA boxWe’ll try that, but this is the second DigiBeta deck that we’ve had the problem with, so we’re pretty sure it’s either FCP or the AJA…

He had me revert from driver v 2.1 back to 2.0, which didn’t work at all. Couldn’t send any video until we re-updated to v2.1. We can print now, but we’re still getting the pops.
An audio mixdown didn’t work, either.
I think tomorrow I’m going to have her try changing to an 8 channel ouput sequence, routing the problem track to a different output and plugging the corresponding cable into channel 4 of the digibeta deck to see if it’s still there.
