Closed Caption BetaSP dub via FCP??
A client has a BetaSP that is already Closed Captioned.
If I digitize that BetaSP tape (via BlackMagic DeckLinkSP), then output back to another BetaSP tape, is the Closed Captioning still intact?I only have one UVW-1800 and they want to make a copy of a BetaSP tape that they already had Closed Captioned.

I haven’t actually done it yet, but from what I’ve been able to research, as long as you do not add anything to the file that would cause you to re-render, the closed captioning will stay in tact. FCP can’t access or read the captioning, but it won’t alter it, unless you render.
So a straight dub should, in theory, work. Like I said, I haven’t tried it, but people say it works.
