Also, if you’re PC and Mac are at the same location, just attach an Ethernet or Firewire cable between them and network them together. It’s pretty easy to do.

It will work fine. Use the latest version of Disk Warrior only. Most likely it won’t find anything that needs repair if you’re using your RAID for video. Having said that, I would not run it in the middle of a job/s and I would be very hesitant to run it without a backup of the RAID somewhere. I’ve never had a problem on my Xserve RAID’s with Disk Warrior, but I did loose everything twice when using Disk Warrior on my Huge Systems RAIDs (I think it was an issue with Huge and/or ATTO, but Huge tried and tried and was never able to figure out what caused the data loss).

Repair your permissions using Disk Utility.

You need to login as the user (name and password), for who’s Home Folder you are trying to access. Even admin users do not have access to other users home folders (except for their Public and Sites folders).

I’d suggest putting it on a PAL tape and sending it out for the NTSC conversion. Its easier, faster, better and probably cheaper in most cases.

The longest FW cable you can use with the Io is about 15 feet. You can extend the cable an additional 15 feet by adding either a FW hub or repeater. The maximum number of repeaters/hubs are 14.
