Check out https://www.finalcutprotemplates.com They have a few packs you can buy that are Motion Master Templates and they work inside FCP as drag and drop templates. I own all of them and use them. You can see a few of em in the promos for a fishing show that I work on at: vimeo.com/tonysvideo

Agreed with Walter! I have both and each has served it’s purpose well. Found a refurb Sony DVD recorder (that even includes a FireWire connection) for only $60 on Buy.com and it’s awesome for quickie stuff.

Go with the canopus ADVC! I’ve got one and it works awesome. Has other uses as well.

BTW…that was for the non-smooth playback after export. The other, encoding, questions are lengthy discussions for each. If you search here, you’ll find a ton of info! Compressor is your friend. Learn it and life will have joy!

What type of drive is the playback from? Is it USB? Or worse, the system drive? If it’s on a separate drive that’s fast enough, I don’t know what to tell ya. If it’s USB or your system drive that may be the problem. Is it smooth playback from the timeline?

December 21, 2010 at 3:23 am in reply to: Which software should I use to get results like this?I only watched a little bit but you’d be best suited using After Effects or Motion. Also, some compositing packages like those found at Digital Juice or Videocopilot.net will go a long way to give it some depth.
Good Luck!

Good catch Zane! OP was asking about the original ATV. I haven’t a new one yet because I need to be able to keep my video work portable.

Open the file in QuickTime and use the edit dropdown (I think that’s it…I’m on my iPhone right now…to select looping option. Save the file and sync back to ATV. Play it back and it will loop! Hope that’s what you’re lookin for. I use one to show my work at expos and stuff.

Glad it worked! Yea, same thing here. Happened to a particular project when I deleted some render files and some other stuff from it. I didn’t use the render manager and it messed everything up. I kinda ended up finding that answer by trial and error so when I saw your problem I had to help out.
Mine was a commercial I did for a drug rehab in Florida and they’ve had a couple of revisions. It seems that everytime I have to open that project I have to go back and delete the caches again. At least we know now!
Have a good one!

Try this…find your caches…like the waveform and clips cache…any of them. I’m not in front of my machine so I can’t remember what they’re called. Had something similar and deleted them and everything webt back to normal. It’ll have to rebuild the caches when you re-open the projects again but it only takes a second. I think the thumbnail cache is what worked for me. Just thought you might try it! Lemme know if it works!
