This is really the most basic of bottom line knowledge to be able to use this app. I highly suggest that you buy a training course. Check out Ripple Training. They are super easy to understand and follow along with. They also have a ton of free training as well. Google “ripple training 5 minute fcp” and see what you come up with. They also have podcasts. Hope that helps!

April 15, 2014 at 3:27 am in reply to: OT – Recommend Camera To DVR Solution For ClientYou may have a point Shane. If I could find one that had a remote, it’d be perfect. Gotta consider him dirt dumb (his words) when it comes to cameras and what-not.

Huh…I don’t seem to have these in mine at all! Is this only when you have legacy installed on the same system? I’m wanting to have the content!

Quick question Shane…I’m finding myself in this predicament since I never upgraded to 7…if I do this, will it carry with it all of the transitions and effects? Or will it be straight cuts?
I do have another drive for the Mac Pro and a copy of 7 that I bought off of eBay after X came out, but I just haven’t had time to do the whole fresh start install on that new drive.
I want to freeze this drive that has 6 on it because it’s a rock solid system for what I do with it. Lemme know. Thanks!

Check out one from Pixel Films Studio that you can find here: https://store.pixelfilmstudios.com/plugin/pro3dt-plugin
Might get you what you’re lookin for. I do suggest you buy Motion and learn it. This would be easy in Motion, and you could publish it to FCPX so you could use it for other clients within X.
Even w/ that plugin, you’ll still have to do some keyframing to get wat you want. For great lookin video, there’s never a simple drag and drop solution 😉

Re-read that and I think what you want is a logo to be included with your title. Put your title in, then add the logo above or below that in the timeline, then resize and keyframe it or use and effect to move it as you wish. If you’ve got Motion (only $50!) you can do some awesome stuff using that and you’ll be much better off.
There are some plugins that you can use to include logos and move them in 3d space with the text/title included if you search for em.
Not sure if that’s what you were lookin for.
Posted from iPad, please excuse the typos!

Huh? Not sure what you’re trying to do. Please explain a little clearer and you might get a response. .jpg’s are treated just like video clips. There are some plugins and effects that use wells in them that allow you to use images inside but other than that, you can keyframe them, ken burns them, and any number of things.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been given MTS files without the card file structure and had to jump through hoops to get it into the NLE. Aside from buying clipwrap, which has its own troubles, you had to bring it to a win machine or some other solution. And this is free! Nice find.

June 19, 2013 at 8:04 pm in reply to: removing an prominent eyesore within the frame of the footageIf yiu know someone who is running FCPX and you’ve got $149 in your budget, you might try CoreMelt SliceX with Mocha. It’s really quite awesome for this type of thing, and you use Mocha to track it. Otherwise the methods already described, or using After Effects will be where ya wanna go.
