Have you trashed your preferences and repaired permissions yet? If its still doing it after you have done so, you’ll have to do more troubleshooting as is could be a plug-in or something that’s causing it during launch.

You may be right on the TC using Streamclip. Grinder from Red Giant is fantastic and will do proxies and full at the same batch for you. It retains everything and works wonderfully. I picked it up for $49 and it was well worth it.

Does this have Max? Or is it the standard one?

I did a direct share to Vimeo the other day and it looks great! I then went into the project folder in finder and inside the shared folder was a copy of what was sent up and again, it looks great. Maybe try that?

Magic Bullet Grinder from Red Giant works great for DSLR footage and what-not of you’re importing directly from an SD card or a complete image of one. Under $50. For free? MPEG Streamclip.

Sorry…I guess I assumed they knew that Shane 🙂 But yea…that’s why I suggested Prores…at least it’ll be better than NTSC.

Drop the finished 16:9 master into a 4:3 timeline and increase the scale until it fills the frame. Render and export. I would use a Prores 4:3 timeline.

  • I actually just answered my own question! I found it in Final Cut Projects > (project name) > (version name folder) > Shared Items

In case any of you were wondering…I guess my machine was indexing the drive after two system freezes / re-starts caused by FCP X and this project. Yea, that did suck. But it DID come right back to where I was with everything intact.
