    Unnaceptable answer!

You are supposed to say, “Sure! Just set XYZ on your magical menu Item to YES and it should work for you.”

    Go back and try again.

    😛

Thanks for the info. I figured there was a setting somewhere but couldn’t find it at the time.

The project started out as 720p but I changed the properties, and then changed the generated media’s properties to be 1080p. Would that cause it? how do I recover from it without rebuilding the entire project?

I purchased a Quad core and 4 gig of ram, specifically to be able to render and work with AVCHD video, I would suggest you do the same. With that setup I am pleased with the render times (Of course I’m not working on 2 hour-long videos, but even so)

I wouldn’t compare this to Jibjab…at all. They are using flash animation, this is basically clips of video and stills stiched together one after the other. Theirs uses humor to poke fun at all pollitical sides equally, this is just…well…its not funny, its just an individuals pollitical views.

August 22, 2008 at 11:47 am in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 9 ?

Well, personally, I edit AVCHD and Vegas can handle it natively, so CS3 isn’t really a good option for me. In regard to Vegas 9 Pro, I am greatly looking forward to it, meanwhile however, I am getting along with Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack (gotta love their short names) as when 9 Pro comes out my software cost will basically let me upgrade for $100 off, so I haven’t wasted ANY money.

For the time being I will have limited tracks and my output options are more limited (in terms of 264) but other than that I can just live with the limitations.

RUMORS: I was *told* unnofficially by some guy in support (who I’m sure doesn’t REALLY know) that their release date for 9 Pro is October. Whether they hit that or push it out to Q1 of next year or later has yet to be seen. I was also told that the 64bit code was giving them a little trouble, hence the date push back.

Look at the rendered text properties window. I think you’ll find you have the resolution there set different than your overall final product.

…OR… you could pick up Sony Vegas (even the Movie Studio version) which will edit AVCHD quickly and natively with no conversion, and no extra expensive hardware.

I’ve been trying to find a reason to use Adobe but with the lack of AVCHD support I as of yet, cannot. So until then I’m using a $99 version 9 of Vegas Movie Studio.

Another thought if you MUST edit in Adobe is to rough-cut it in Vegas and then render out the bits you want to use in your Adobe editor in something it can handle. It would be a $50-100 solution with a LOT less use of HDD space.

They have a free 30 day trial on their site.

Odd, my PC handles it fine. I mean the preview isn’t renderriffic unless I prerender in memory, but I have no complaints with it.

    I have a Q9300 (45nm 2.5 quad) and 4 gig ram.

Also, I am unnaware of what if anything Vegas uses your video card for, but when I am previewing or rendering my GPU’s fan goes off the wall. (again, that could just be cause the CPU is heating up and making the GPU want to cool down, but maybe it does use it for preview?

In case it matters I have a GeForce 8800GTS

Just curious. What OS are you running under? I have had relatively few problems running Vista 64. (4 gig ram)

    That’s cool, I didn’t know about that.

However, I failed to mention there is a graphic element on the screen as well that I do not want to have the effect.

So the logo is up there and then I want my text to have the same effect on it to display the words.

The problem is that with some effects it applys it to the whole layer and thus destroys the transperancy which allows the second colored text to show through.
