Hi Edward,
Ouch, thats a bummer. Most things I do in Proanimator utilize the comp camera so the text works in a 3D space environment. I appreciate the suggest to prebuild but that just doesnt fit my work flow. Hire more coders! 😉

Reviving this old thread with good news. The Tascam FW-1082 now works great on Snow Leopard running FCS3. Tascam released a new driver that did the trick!

To keep things in perspective, all the following comments are from a long time Avid DS and short time FCP editor…

Major upgrade! Stable as a rock! I created a second boot drive, installed Snow Leopard and then CS5. Smooth installation. Fast as hell with PP and AE. The only thing that I found that sucks so far is Soundbooth. As a professional I still will edit at facilities with Avid and FCP since they arent gloing anywhere. But I bet this stellar release got Apples attnetion.

Yes Brain, I checked out each one of the third party vendors. What I found didnt have the kind of sophisticated transitions I was looking for.
If you check out the Noise Factory site and then look only at the FX Factory transitions (and not the prebuilt efx) you will get an idea of what I wanted.

Yes.from what Ive heard at other forums the MAC seems to be missing quite a few transitions. But the third party offerings for both platforms are insufficient for my purposes. I spoke to Noise Industries (FX Factory) who has created a bunch of innovative transitions for FCP and AE about this and I get the feeling the may spotlight PP MAC for their next platform for development since CS5 has really accelerated its popularity.

Actually there is a better solution…the 5d. It has a larger sensor and
thus a greater ability to look great in low light conditions without the noise you may get from using the 7D with a faster ISO to compensate for its smaller sensor. Better DOF also, if that is important to you. 😉
