I was just responding to the previous posters quirey about the comparative imagery output quality of FCP vs. PrP.

Ive rendered out master files of FCP and out of PrP and they are both great looking spots. Ive tried using Prores as the Preview choice (as opposed to MPEG I frame) and used the Preview files for export. Images just as good.
FYI exporting out of PrP and sending the export to AMEs render Queue uses the same processing path. With Export you tie up PrP and with render Queue PrP is released. This was stated by an Adobe rep.(Todd). Im sticking with Prores as my mastering codec.

I just bumped into a wierd-in-a-good-way thing when using dynamic link.
When I render to ram (using Zero) in AE, when I tab back to PrP I can play back that AE comp with no rendering. Apparently PrP and AE share the same ram with DL. But of course eventually I have to render the file in PrP. Just a nice surprise for a change.

Jim, one fun little trick I borrowed from my days of cutting in Avid DS and doing motion graphics work in AE is this…

1. Cut my seq in PrP.
2. Identify my first clip to be sent to AE.
3. Duplicate that clip, drag it to V2 and deactivate it (right click)
4. Send the clip on V! to AE as a DL.

This way I have an immediate reference to the original clip if I need it.Yet its invisible to the timeline. It works great!

When your clients are doing long form productions You Tube and Vimeo dont cut it. Extremely large files sizes (even when using H.264) are a reality that negates all but dvd for approval or distribution (except for Sony SR tape). Dont base your evaluation of a technology based on your limited use or experience. Other folks have different needs that may exceed yours. 😀

Hi Bob, its a great feature but pales in comparison to FCPs Multicam abilities. I get the feeling that its a high priority to get that updated for the next release.

Herb, Adobe is very responsive to user input, so if you see something that needs changing…let them know 😀

Mike, Boris for AE is not what I suggested. Boris Red 5 is the software that will allow you to use or create very cool TRANSITIONS within Premiere, which is a hell of a lot faster when you are cutting primarily in Prmeiere Pro. I send certain clips to AE when motion graphics or special effects are needed. If you are on a PC Boris Red 5 is available as a FREE download with use over a certain time period. Believe me, Ive done extensive research on what is available for Premiere Pro CS 5.5 in terms of transitions. This one gets my money 😀
