You may want to take a look at the requirements for ProRes RAW.

When I finish a large project, or if things seem to be acting strange on my PC, I’ll open PPro without opening a project, go to my Media Cache Preferences and hit Delete to Remove Media Cache Files, and select to remove ALL media cache files from the system. This will get rid of all the media cache database files in the Common folders as well. I also do this with AE.

October 21, 2020 at 3:17 pm in reply to: issue exporting sequence with Immersive video transitionNot sure I like this new COW format where old stuff can come to the top when someone comments on it…. but, since it’s here, when you are in your AME Export settings, switch between CBR, VBR 1-pass, and VBR 2-pass, and check your Performance drop down to see what happens as you switch. On my Win10 system at home, it goes to Software Encoding when selecting 2-pass VBR, but CBR and 1-pass both can have Hardware Encoding selected. I’m betting this is where the issue is coming from, trying to use VBR 2-pass.

And make sure that your sequence frame rate matches you original clip frame rate, which also will match your export frame rate. 🙂

So the video you are having trouble with is 23.978fps. You DON’T have any of that 25fps in it, do you? You should leave that out of the question if it’s not part of the problem. What frame rate are you using for the export? If it’s not 23.978, but something like 29.97, then you will end up with some judder. Judder will be less noticeable on smaller devices.

You can find a bunch of stuff online about setting up an AutoRun function – https://www.flashbay.com/support/faq/usb-flash-drive-autorun-setup . I will say, my Windows 10 computer, I have set up NOT to autorun through my SEP. And, from what I understand, AutoRun won’t work on Apple because of their security. Better off with just telling people to open “TitleName.mp4” to view. Still pretty dang easy. 🙂

Describe your problem. What are your system specs? What’s your sequence, and what are you rendering to – both codec and hardware. Is your render disk nearly full? Is there an effect that it stops on? There are a lot of holes to fill in to narrow down what “the problem” may be.

You would need to transcode to another codec/container. I would suggest ProRes Mov.

I thought Motion JPEG was one of those 32-bit deprecated codecs that Apple dumped.
Check around online.

September 18, 2020 at 2:46 pm in reply to: Rendering Mpeg-2 for Broadcast Sermons causes tremendous loss of qualityI worked at a church, I understand…. many broadcasters can’t afford the full upgrade to HD. But you’re biggest issue, like has been said, is downgrading the video from HD to MP2. I’m assuming you aren’t recording to H264. ProRes maybe out of your switcher? One thing to try and keep your video from degrading too quickly is I would avoid using your lossy h264 as your main file. I would render the program out to something like ProRes Mov, then use that to transcode to your MP2 and H264 files from. Not sure how much that will help, but anything that prevents huge loss in data can’t hurt.
