This was one of those very simple things. Apple tech support said the first thing to do was make sure the app itself was not in any folder within the Applications folder, which it was. If it is the updates can’t find it. I removed it, put the app outside the Final Cut folder in the Applications folder and problem solved.

Yes, everything has been updated. In fact now software updates finds nothing to update.

I’m just wondering if there’s a better method which will achieve smaller file sizes and better picture quality. Overall the files look good but am I getting the best that I can get?

Are you using the SDI1 (HD) out from your HDx card?
Yes

Have you set the HD-SDI in of your DVCProHD deck to 720p?
We did not see anything in the menu for setting to 720p. WIll check again.

M100HDx 12.1.2, clips in the program were imported as Uncompressed 8bit 16×9. I’m wanting to conform to a 4×3 program.

I changed the codec so it matched, but that didn’t do it. The 2 graphic clips which are M100HD codec conformed OK… but the video clips didn’t. Hmmm…
