You’re swinging the right club.
Seems like it took me about 4 months to get the battery and tapes….
And don’t bother calling Panasonic…..

Thanks for the response. After some playing around, I was finally able to get AE into a two-screen config.
And, I wasn’t expecting any problems, so I think I’m all set.
Thanks again,
Tim

If you’re on a MAC, simply go the systems folder > preferences > media 100 and drag to the trash.
Then restart your machine.
Good luck,

I think your client is asking much, and while it sounds like a a cool thing to do, it’s going to be a headache for you.
First, you need to ID a host/ISP who’s gonna provide the storage for file. Then you need to ID a compression scheme for the program. Considerations include whether or not you want folks to download or if you intend to stream. If you stream, you need to determine data rate. For a good image, you’ll need a higher data rate 150 – 300k, but then folks on dial-up will have a horrrible time seeing this, and this doesn’t even take into account the aspect ratio you might use.
Are you starting to get the picture (such as it is)?
Good luck, you’ll need it.

December 9, 2005 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Urgent! Timecode Synch problems with two camerasI assume the remote control does NOT control both the A and B cameras at the same time?
If it does, you’re in luck, as your can simply use the remote control and the menu function to set the time code in the “free” mode. This is typically how it is done, at least w/two cameras from the same generation.
Can’t help w/the firewire issue.
Good luck,

Floh,
What kind of file is this, and does it work w/earlier versions (6.0) of Media 100? Do we simply “import” it?
Your consederation is MOST appreciated.

[Noah Kadner] “That often means it’s time to send in for repair if the problem is not resolvable after replacing batteries, switching to VCR mode, etc. I would not recommend taking the cassette case apart- you would likely void your warranty if it did need further service”
Noah, thanks so much for your response and advice.
At this point, I changed batteries, hit the Reset button, and was able to get the tape.
I have not been able to work with my camera since then, but will tonight. If issues continue, I’ll contact my dealer.
Thanks again.

November 25, 2005 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Format & Compression Setting Issues W/Sorenson 4.2Than[Marcelo Lewin] “Is this the full version (not just the Flash version)? Sorry to ask such a dumb question, but just wondering first.”
Thanks for your response, and so quickly.
How would we know if this was just the Flash version?
And oh, there are no dumb questions where I’m concerned 🙂
Thanks for your consideration,

Mike,
It should be as simple as going to your Preferences folder and dragging the preferences for that specific software to the trash. The software will then build new preferences when it opens and/or closes.
Anyone else?

I was in your position earlier this year and tried to do my homework. Having been in this “business” for 20 years, I struggled to throw away my notion of having to have a big camera, 2/3″ chips and nice glass, all with a Beta back, to make good pictures. And my experience with 1st generation MII REALLY soured me on Panasonic.
Nonetheless, I settled on the DVX-100A
Am I Satisfied?
I’m not sure I could be more so. I’ve been shooting with the DVX since October and remain stunned at the quality of pictures in both 30i and ESPECIALLY 24p. I’m shooting a nature documentary with 24p for on-camera interviews and 30i for B-Roll. Simply put, looks great.
I played with the JVC HDVcam that’s coming out, and I really like the Fujinon lens on it. Who wouldn’t? Do I wish the DVX had such a lens, sure, but then it wouldn’t be a $3200 – $3900 camera. And as for HD, I don’t need to be the first-one on the block with it, ESPECIALLY since market penetration for TV’s is simply too small at this point (and in my mind, for the next couple of years)to even bother.
I will say, I use all my experties in videography to insure I’ve got correct lighting, color balance, and some filters to insure I get the images I want. Too often, folks want to simply turn the camera on make good pictures, while the DVX is capable of that, you got give is something extra to work with.
Good luck in your search, and hope you enjoy the results. I know I have.
