AE 6.5 on Two Screens?
Posted by Tim Scarpino on December 30, 2005 at 6:50 pmMaybe a simple question, but should I be able to run AE 6.5 on two PC screens? I use two for Avid, Photoshop, etc., all from the same PC that AE is on. If possible, how do I configure?
Thanks for any consideration,
Tim

Yes, you can run AE on a dual display system. I’d highly recommend it actually.
Personally, I have the system set up to stretch the desktop across the two displays. So maximizing the window (in Windows) will spread AE over the two displays.
I’m not sure why you expect problems, but maybe you could explain?

December 30, 2005 at 7:35 pmThanks for the response. After some playing around, I was finally able to get AE into a two-screen config.
And, I wasn’t expecting any problems, so I think I’m all set.
Thanks again,
Tim

December 30, 2005 at 11:30 pmI am running AE on a dual display, one side off my integrated display card, the second screen off an ATI radeon card.
I actually use one screen for the timeline, one for tools, and a third smaller tv monitor off a firewire card and a canopus firewire to video converter for video preview. In fact I think, it is more important to have a tv monitor as a second screen than a computer display. You could get the firewire card and the canopus converter for about $120.00 and run it to a tv to see color issues right away.
Of course all of this will be absolete soon 😉
