Resolve is the latest version. GPU/CUDA drivers are the next to latest I think. I had the system crashing with the latest Nvidia drivers so went to the one before -version. The GPU is not the latest either, GTX 580.. I’ll be testing with my other PC rig soon, which has the GTX 670 and latest GPU drivers, and see if the problem occurs.

..and this hanging happens when trying to play a clip on the timeline. Playback doesn not start, Resolve just hangs, and “wakes up” minutes later.

I would take the speed-changed clips from Premiere to After Effects and render there, as AE usually handles speed changes better than Premiere. And then make a sequence in Premiere where you replace the original clips with the once rendered in AE, and send an XML to Resolve.

You see what you get of you’re monitoring with legal levels through a Blackmagic video output card.

  • Okay, I found the problem already.. the layer below the track matte wasn’t really moving, but appeared so because the matte layer was moving a lot with the tracker, and it was cutting the edges of the image. Making a lot bigger solid for the matte layer removed the problem..

In AE, make a new comp with the 2048×858 dimensions. Then drag the footage to the comp, and scale it to 106,67%, if it’s 1920×1080. Render to DPX 10 bit or 16 bit, make sure the project bit depth is also at least 16 bit.

I wouldn’t do a XYZ conversion in Resolve (or AE..) Easy DCP and Final DCP both do a good job.

Also interested to hear about the difference between AE and Resolve scaling. I’ve had good experience with Resolve before.

This actually seemed to be a platform specific issue. When I transfered the same project to my Macbook Pro there was no issue with the audio panning. All was well when the panning was set to middle. Even more strange..
