Resolve hanging
Hi, this is an issue that I’ve had for quite a while. When moving from Edit page to Color page, Resolve sometimes “hangs” for quite a while, usually from 2-5 minutes, but can be also 10 minutes. Not everytime but maybe 5 times a day. This is quite a nuisance, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar and have any advice.
I’m on Windows 7 and latest version of Resolve Lite, GTX 580 3GB GPU. I’m monitoring through Blackmagic Ultrastudio SDI (USB3). Disk system is just plain internal SATA HD:s, no RAID.

..and this hanging happens when trying to play a clip on the timeline. Playback doesn not start, Resolve just hangs, and “wakes up” minutes later.

Resolve is the latest version. GPU/CUDA drivers are the next to latest I think. I had the system crashing with the latest Nvidia drivers so went to the one before -version. The GPU is not the latest either, GTX 580.. I’ll be testing with my other PC rig soon, which has the GTX 670 and latest GPU drivers, and see if the problem occurs.

Failing hard drives may also make hangs maybe or other faulty components?
Sure older gpu with new drivers are also a question.

I don’t seem to have problems with drives, but it’s more than 3-year old Sandy Bridge system so the CPU+mobo combination might be at the end of their lifespan.

Did some quick testing and I could not replicate the “hanging” on my other PC. So it might be that some component is beginning to malfunction.
