Yes, I forgot to mention that I have the latest version. Same behaviour with the second latest version also.

And how about Windows 10? Mercury Transmit has been broken ever sinced I upgraded to CC 2017. Toggle Fullscreen only toggles to the main display with timeline as you said, and Mercury Transmit has no effect whatsoever on any display. No Full Screen, except with “Toggle Fullscreen” on the main display, which is useless for me.

February 3, 2017 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Resolve tracking issues: crashes and ram demands: possible causes and preventive methodsI’ve also had random crashes for the last year or two when tracking. The crash always happens right in the beginning when starting tracking. Three different Windows Resolve systems have done the same thing, versions 11, 12, 12.5. Now working with 6950X, 64GB ram, GTX 1070 + dedicated gui GPU.
I’m in the habit of always saving the project before tracking, which is a pita since it takes some time in larger projects. Have been in contact with Blackmagic but they have not been able to help with this. So it’s the CTRL+S before tracking method for me.

You want to paste the clip with its original audio to the timeline? One way to do it is to press F when you’re at the beginning of the clip(on your XML timeline), then drag the clip to the program monitor, and choose “overwrite”. Make sure you have the correct tracks selected (for example V1 and A1 highlighted with a red square.. just double click those tracks). You can proceed through the edit like this.. shouldn’t take very long.

It doesn’t really work with that motherboard to have 3 GPUs, as you’ll need one slot for Decklink card. With X99-E WS it’s theoretically possible, but practically not really. But 2 Titans is possible, just forget the GUI card. Or, have just one Titan/GTX 1080 and another card for GUI.

December 28, 2015 at 6:36 pm in reply to: Converting Sony A7SII video files for DaVinci Resolve?I’m using the same camera & mp4 wrappers, and they seem to import ok to Resolve 12. Currently at HD resolution.
If you need to convert, something like DNxHR would be a nice codec for 4K material. Premiere can do the conversion but it’s not the world’s handiest converter.. but if you get them to import to Resolve, that’s the easiest solution.

July 4, 2015 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Lag and snappiness, differences between systemsCame back to this subject after putting together a i7 5960X 8-core system with GTX 780 gpu, and it performs really nicely, runs realtime 4K, but the snappiness is far from my old 4-core i7 2600K system. But voila, after turning off the onboard Davinci video scopes, the system responsiveness becomes really nice. People were saying that nowdays there’s no use for a GUI GPU, but I have to disagree..
I really like the Davinci scopes and prefer to use them instead something like Ultrascope. Haven’t tested Scopebox though.

April 7, 2015 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Lag and snappiness, differences between systemsI’ll have to double check but I think there should be the latest drivers. Footage is either Prores 1080 or RED 4K (usually with 1/4 resolution).
One other strangeness with this PC is that it tends to wait for a while before it allows the removal of a USB stick or a drive, and the harddrives seem to be working lot during that “hanging”. I have upgraded the motherboard from P9X79 Pro to the E-WS and it’s the same behaviour with both mobos (Re-installed Windows and all drivers of course when installed new mobo)

March 31, 2015 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Lag and snappiness, differences between systemsIt’s especially noticeable when using a control surface. But its there also when using the mouse. The change of PSU didn’t fully solve the issue. Maybe I’ll just have to accept that a old low-spec PC can be snappier to work with than a beefier one. I’m also using a HP Z820 with dual xeons and Avid Artist Color surface, and the response from that surface is slooow.. Sometimes 1-2 sec before anything happens on-screen.
