Let us know when it will work with Final Cut Studio, then I’ll get that good old Visa out and jump on one of those Xeon Macs.
P.S. any chance of the upgrade offer to Red 4 being extended? I missed out.
Thanks,

I’m using it, it was a run around at first. I had old firmware for the SI chips that were on the multiports I bought. I saved a few bucks but what a pain it was! I have 8 500 gig Hitachi SATA II’s running. No problems with 8 or 10 bit uncompressed or DVCPro HD.

I should have stated that that’s what I’m talking about, selecting text in the “text window”. I can select a word or row and change it’s size but sometimes it changes everything. Why does it change the words that are not selected?

The Steadicam Merlin does with with the HVX200, I do most of my shooting with one. The only problem your going to have in a chopper is wind. I went up a few weeks back and found I couldn’t use the Merlin because of wind, I needed to have at least half the camera out of the door (what door…aaaaahhh). I shoot normal DV that was very shaky, only used two seconds, then also shot some 1080 30P stuff, which looked somewhat better. But I still think it was a waste of the clients money for the chopper, you really need to rent some sort of stabilizer.

June 26, 2006 at 2:39 pm in reply to: Can I capture DV then convert it to DVCPro 50 on the Kona 3?Thanks, since my DVCam deck does not have SDI I’ll have to try and use the Media Manager method. I digitized D9 to DVCPro 50 today and it worked fine…through the SDI input.

Where do you find all the files to delete? Did they give you a list?

Since we’re talking about Red 3.0.5….I can use it as a generator, once I try to use it as a filter or try the transitions….with caps lock on it doesn’t work. If I go in and delete prefs it seems to work for a day or so.
So I guess just keep deleting prefs and I’ll be fine???

Yeap, I hear ya, I won’t do the 5.1.1 upgrade. I sent in my Final Cut Studio 5.0 to get the upgrade 5.1 discs, I didn’t even think of Boris RED not working with it. I’m still have filter problems with RED 3.0.5 and FCP 5.1. Thought 5.1.1 might help. I guess not.
Just don’t tell me we have to wait for RED 4 for a real fix. Hello Boris…this is Doris, your mission is to get the current RED working with FCP 5.1 and 5.1.1.
