The best way we handle this at our shop is to set up a timeline that is already in NTSC DV format (720×480, DV/DVCPRO NTSC pixel aspect, etc) render this then output as quicktime with “Current Settings” enabled.

    Hope this helps!

You could change your RT settings to unlimited/and or right click on the MC clips and click Collapse Multiclip.

    Hope that helps!

Speed can be kinda tricky with FCP, I’d suggest taking your time remapping into AAE CS3 if that’s an option it has frame accurate controls plus better motion interloping than final cut does.

I’d also try playing with the motion blur settings under the motion tab of your viewer, I’ve had good results with that replicating drunk driving. Kinda the same thing you’re looking for i think.

    Hope that helps!

  • When working with 1080p30 material (such as DVCProHD1080 off of the HPX-500) The camera actually shoots at 30p and when you digitize the material thru log and transfer it automatically does a pulldown to 23.98psf.

In final cut 5 you might have to capture @ i59.94 and do the pull back yourself with the “remove advance pulldown” utility under the tools menu (i believe that was included with FCP5, it’s been awhile since i was on a setup like that.)

    Hope that helps!

Have you tried rendering even the full render sections?

    To do this, goto:
    Sequence>Render Selection>Full
(this should put a little check mark next to full if you go back and look at it again)

Now highlight your transition and hit apple+R this will do a software render on your Full rendered transition and should take care of your problem.

    Hope that helps!

I experienced this same thing updating a project when the Studio2 upgrades came out. Anytime you change something, be it drives, drivers, computers, etc and you change the FCP version any external audio files slip out of sync for some reason. I don’t know why this is, but I see 2 possible workarounds for you:

    1. Edit off the new hard drives on whatever version of FCP you started the project
    or
    2. Finish the project with your original setup with the hard drives

Sorry i can’t be more helpful but i experienced this same thing we were syncing to dats and creating subclips from which to edit. We spent several days searching for a solution between the cow forums, the LAFCPUG forums, and apple techs; And it really sucked but we just had to finish it in FCPv5, sorry wish i could be more help.
