    Hello,

I just outputted an hour show to the sony digibeta A500 via the edit to tape command, assembling the show onto the tape. I need to make an insert edit of video, but for some reason, there’s no communication between the deck and final cut anymore where there just was. I’ve tried every other device control and refreshed a/v devices over and over, restarted final cut, restarted the mac, took the remote cable out, put it back in. No luck. Any ideas? Starting to lose my mind.

    Thanks,

    Jake

Try power cycling everything. Turn off all the power in the room and start it all back up piece by piece allowing things to get upto speed before starting on the next device.
    For example:
    1. Turn on your UPS, wait 3 minutes,
    2. Turn on your drives, wait 3 minutes,
    3. Turn on the digibeta deck wait 3 minutes (yes it does actually help to have the deck up and running b4 your card believe it or not)
    4. Turn on your computer (which should also be feeding the power for the kona.

That should help, I’ve never had that problem with my Kona computers, but it happens all the time with my BlackMagic computers, so it’s worth giving a try.

    Hope that helped!
