  • I thought that quick looks are just presets. With the full MB Looks, you can make it exactly the way you want. And much faster and easier then when you have to obtain the same result directly in Vegas. So soon you will enjoy the fact that you ‘have switched’to the full version of Looks.

To create real 3D text, you need indeed Graffitti or RED. But to create fake 3D text, you can also use the Vegas FX bumpmap or the Pixelan plugin for Vegas called Creative Ease Rise Shine.

February 19, 2010 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Vegas 9 chugging/ stuttering

‘When running a single track of vid things are fine, nice and smooth – its when I run many tracks (3 or 4 plus) that the chugging becomes a problem, especially if the tracks have effects on. Ive just bought a Sony EX3 and the files from this cause the same prob.’
That sounds very logic to me. The more Vegas has to calculate before previewing, the more difficult preview will be. But at which point Vegas get preview problems is completely dependent on the specs of your computer.
But there is a solution to have a perfect preview under all circumstances: RAM preview or Render to new track (Ctrl M). I prefer the last one …

Wheb you install Mercalli, it is better to let the installer decide where to install. Then everything will work fine.

And you know that Mercalli will only work under 32-bits Vegas 9 pro and not Vegas pro 64-bit? Probably that’s your problem.

Maybe I misunderstand you completely, but if you have a yellow arrow against a transparant background, you don’t need any moving mask. You just have to move the arrow (in x, y and z direction) together with your subject (the house).

‘Maybe it would make a difference if I tried saving directly to the laptop and then putting it on my external harddrive for storage’

Also in that case the external disk needs to be formatted as NTSF when your files are larger then 4GB

No, a Vegas 9 project will not open in Vegas 8. It will work only the other way around.
And about the network rendering, since you are not going to use other computers for the network rendering, you don’t have to set up a rendering computer.
