  • “Real” 3D Text in Vegas Pro 9.0?

Posted by Max Baker on February 20, 2010 at 11:28 am

I am trying to create title text that has depth, i.e., appearing to be physically 3D. All my searches only come up with ways to make 2D text move in 3D space. I want text that appears to have height, width, AND depth. Can I do this with Vegas Pro 9.0, or do I have to use a plug-in? If a plug in, which one?

    Many thanks!

You can’t do this with Vegas Pro alone. You’ll need a plug-in like Boris Graffiti or Boris RED.

To create real 3D text, you need indeed Graffitti or RED. But to create fake 3D text, you can also use the Vegas FX bumpmap or the Pixelan plugin for Vegas called Creative Ease Rise Shine.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive solution, try Bluff Titler.
