quote: Hi. I am very interested in this. I have Boris Red, and am looking for the filter, but I do not see it.

I wrote BorisFX, and they said UpRez was not available for Vegas, but only for Avid and Premier.

Can you please help me find the filter you are talking about? ”

The people of Boris FX are only partially right when they say that uprez is not available for Vegas since your Boris RED can function as an adapter for AE plugins. Once you have installed Boris Red or Boris FX, you can install the uprez plugin for AE in the plugin folder of Boris. Then Uprez is available from within Vegas via the Boris plugin.
    For me this works great…

The uprez plugin can be obtained from here:

You will have to import the photographs into PI as an image sequence. Then you can use this ‘particle’in your emitter and choose to use all the pictures in different particles. In that case you need only one emitter to see all the photos one by one

Hi Theo, is just a standard import of file the same as a ‘nested’ import? I’ve been trying this and it’s just not working. If you can give me any more help that’d be great :)”

Just drag the .veg-file from the explorer (or even from Windows Explorer) to the timeline. Thats all. Your project will appear on the timeline as 1 video and 1 audio event.

You can (before rendering) import your .veg file as a nested veg into a new project and use the velocity envelop in the new project

Do I understand right that you are looking for a track motion within Vegas? You can use the Boris FX plugin.

To transfer the dog from one video to the other, you will have to isolate the dog from the background. This can be done ‘easily’ using the bluescreen method.
Rotoscoping means that you remove the backgound frame for frame, by painting over the background. This can be done in the latest version of Photoshop or in e.g. After Effect, but is very labour intensive.
Taking your dog to the beach will be a much better/faster solution.

The alternative idea I came up with is the BCC MotionKeyUnit. This plugin for AfterEffects removes moving objects from a scene based on a frame to frame comparison of all the frames. If this plugin has a kind of “reverse mask” option, you could use it to isolate the dog. But anyhow, to use this within Vegas, you need an AE-adaptor like Boris RED, Boris FX or After Effects itself.
