Actually if you right click the file you dropped on the time line and choose properties and set the alpha channel to premultiplied or premultiplied (dirty) you should be fine. For some reason Vegas brings events in with the alp[ha channel turned off.

You need to save it as MPg2 (the language of DVDs). Use the main Concept Preset whic will render just the video. Then render the audio as AC3. They should both go into the same folder. If you are using Arch. then add the video file and the audio file will follow automatically.

You can keep watch on the counter in the lower right hand corner to see how far you are moving each time.

So what you are looking for is the apearance of one single video filling the screen with like a tic-tac-toe lines laid over the top?

Ultimate S or Excalibur (I forget which) has a script that does a video wall automatically. But basically it is a set up of PiPs 3×3 or 4×4 or whatever number you want. It does not look like a television set but pictures (withor without borders). This can be done without the script but is much easier with it.

As far as your first question, there must be a small snippet of video or audio down at the one minute mark. If you sctvate the return to beginning arrrow on the controls your cursor will go to the start. Correspondingly if you activate the go to end arrow where does the cursor go to? If it goes past what you think is the end of your video, there is something down there. You can expand your view of the timeline to magnify everything to find some little frame, etc. Alos its possible that you might have a marker down there. Delete whatever you find down there and you will now have a correct ending.

I am assuming the HC3 is not a tape based camera other wise you could just do a PTT.

Create your title with a solid back bakground and then use pan and crop to resize it and place it the way you want.

Outline or highlight a section that you want to check. Go to Tools>Ram render. It will render in RAM the highlighted section and you can play it. Gives you an idea of what the finished product will look like. Be sure to change the preview setting to good and that you have enough ram allocatyetd to the ram render in preferences.

Try a ram render of that section and see if it comes up that way on the render. Sometimes I see styrange things in the preview window that really are not there when rendered.
