Hello…I am new to to Vegas, I have Vegas 5.0 and I have pretty much figured it out by myself, but I am having one problem. I am making a movie from my Sony HDD camera and I want to fade in between clips…I basically, push the clips into each other and creates the fade. But the fade is not smooth, it is kind of choppy. I have about 20 clips in my movie so far and like 5 of them are smooth, and the rest are slow and choppy. Does anyone know why this happens? I didnt do anything different to the smooth ones! I would appreciate any help! Thank!

How does it look after a render? I’ll bet it looks fine then. You might try pre-rendering or RAM rendering that section to see it correctly in preview mode.

ha ha OK, since I am new to this, I don’t know how to pre-render or RAM…I just preview it. Can you tell me how to do this? Thank you!

Outline or highlight a section that you want to check. Go to Tools>Ram render. It will render in RAM the highlighted section and you can play it. Gives you an idea of what the finished product will look like. Be sure to change the preview setting to good and that you have enough ram allocatyetd to the ram render in preferences.
