A compressor is probably the way to start. (Disclaimer) I am in no way an expert on audio.

Just tried it – it works as stated. Instructions were under CHAPTER MARKERS in the help file.

I believe you can add markers (M) in the DVDA timeline and they can be used as chapter markers to skip back and forth. I know it can be done, not exactly sure how as I am not in front of the program at the moment.

There are three little boxes at the bottom right of the time line window. The left one is the curser position time code. Just type the time code you want in there and the curser will go there. The speed with which it works depends on how well you know the time code location you want to go to and how good a typer you are ;>)

I’m glad its your business and not the tornadoes that have driven you away. With my wife being from Southern Illinois I felt kind of a kinship with you. Where did you get the pictures from and how did you import them into Vegas?
Are any of the pictures of a really large size? Vegas seems to have trouble with large pictures. Try not to have them any larger than twice the project aspect.
Does the freeze occur at the exact same spot each time . Thant sounds like a corrupted media. Ty removing that media and then see if it renders.
Could be a heat problem with your computer. Try taking off the cover and placeing an external fan to help keep cool. Of course clean any fuzzies from heat sinks.

If your time line continues to play beyond waht you feel should be the end of the projetc or time tine its possible that you may have something (a piece of video or audio etc) out where you can’t see it. Try this: Have your curser at the beginning of the time line but not playing. Hit the go to the end icon or button (the one with the arrow running into a line to the right). Your curser should go to the end of your clips. If it goes beyond you need to look for something at that point. Expand your time line and see if there is a sliver of an event there. Make sure that you can view all the tracks. It could be on a track that you have hidden.

I have not done this or used that tool of Excalibur but my feeling is that it would not work so well with HDV footage due to GOP. Is that correct?
