I don’t think this can be done satisfactorily in Vegas alone. You would probably need a graphics program to construct a ‘striker’ that you could then import and animate in Vegas. There are undoubted programs out there that have this preconstructed but I do not know of one. Anyone else?

Place a keyframe at the beginning (start ) of your move. Move the keyframe curser to the end of your scene and place a keyframe. The movement from A (beginning) to B (end) will be smooth (or fast or slow or linear etc depending on your setting. If you are watching it in the preview window and have the setting to high (ie best) it might look kind of funcky depending on the strength of your CPU. Either set the setting to preview (Auto) or do a RAM render to see what iyt will actually look like.

I use it and recommend it a lot. It has some cheesy effects that you would never use, but it has some wonderfully easy nice effects that you can create. Support is outstanding!!

I agree with ALL of Edwards comments.
He may have been a little kind about Memorex discs – they seem to be a major problem.
I assume that your client is having problems playing the discs?
Have him/her try them in a different DVD player.My grandson received a DVD from Netflix the other day. It would not play on his DVD player without skipping and freezing. I USED TO SAY that they should play in a computer DVD player but it would not even recognize it. Tried it in a newer Toshiba player and it played flawlessly. And this was a pressed commercial disc. It was not in the best of condition though, as many discs from Netflix are. But I digress as this is not the problem with our burned discs.
I have a burned DVD that I provide my client before the project starts that I have them play. If it plays then we proceed, if not I ask them if they might want to get a new DVD player. For better clients some individuals are actually giving DVD players with the DVD order. I have found that the cheap Cyberhome ($35.00) player doesn’t seem to choke on anything.

I do not have a GL2 but I believe it writes the same as a PD170 – that is DV-AVI. I have used my 170 attached directly to a laptop hardrive and acquired the dvavi quite successfully. The Dv avi files then drop normally into Vegas and away you go. Saves the time used for real time capture from tape to HDD.

If you mean the explorer in Vegas as compared to the Windows explorer, you could turn on the auto preview which is an icon with a cursor arrow and a triamgle.
If you mean the Windows explorer you can change views to icons. -

Are your photos really low quality b&w photos or are they newsprint photos (like from a newspaper). If they are newsprint photos – good luck. If they are regular photos, what size did you scan them at? You want to scan them at at least project size and make sure you are scanning them as black and white (or gray scale) not color.
