Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have tried that. It will import the file into the project media (at least it shows there). But it will not preview from there nor can it be placed on the time line or be opened in the trimmer. -
Start with your curser on the first frame of the event. Select event pan/ crop. Set a keyframe (see bottom of keyframe timeline) Now move your curser to the end (or anywhere you want your movement to end) and grab ahold of a corner of the workspace and pull out to zoom out and push in to zoom in. Watch your preview screen to see what it is doing. To pan click in the middle of the picture somewhere and drag it to the ending spot. This all will automatically create another keyframe (diamond) on the keyframe timeline. There are various controls for how smoothly the motion moves etc but lets get you crawling first. If you now play this section you should have a picture or video that zooms in or out and pans.

The other methos of saving a still using the ‘floppy’ icon aotomatically places the still (frame) in the Vegas project.

The ‘scrolling on transparent background’ text on track one will work. It will superimpose the text over whatever picture you place on track 2. To get the effect you are looking for you will need to use event pan and crop on the picture in track2 to reduce it to the size that you want to fit in along with the text. Then you will want to use track motion (found in the track header) in track 2 to move that picture (scroll like) along with the text. Using TM place yourt picture at the bottom of the frame (if scrolling up) This will set your first key frame. Then run your curser to where the text has almost scrolled off the top of the frame. And move your picture an equivalent distance to match where it was in relation to the text at keyframe 1 and this will set a second keyframe. If you look at the keyframe timeline you will see a diamond at the beginning and at the end. Although it is not necessary it woulk be nice if your picture duration was only as long as the keyframed length. Now place a short fade in at the beginning and end of the picture.
You will end up with text scrolling up from the bottom and a picture fading in next to the text near the bottom and scrolling up with the text and fading out just as the text leaves the page.
You will repeat this for ech quote and picture.

What are you playing the avi file back with? Try a different player and see if there is any difference.

Do you know what format the video pieces were?
You obviously have them in a file somewhere. Can you click on them and view them from that file. Will they play in WMP. If not, you may have a codec problem. If thats the problem then download “Super” and drop the file in there. It will tell you what format it is and what codec you need to open it. -

Welcome to the group.
One of the best ways to kepp someone watching your video is with good content. It may just be me but I can’t get into watching a video of a video game. But if there are people that like to watch that sort of thing you want to make it as pleasing as ypou can. You might do a search on the forum for quality UTube Videos. That topic has been discussed many times with several different suggestions. It used to be that you wanted to send it in Flash (which Vegas does not yet output)but I think maybe that has changed. Search.Seconly, by a ‘flash’ do you mean a white flash like a flash bulb has gone off or do you mean a muzzle flash?

Its likely that the muzzle flash video has an alpha channel (for the black) so you do not have to do the keying. It is hartd to chromakey a small item. You need to turn on the alpha channel of the muzzle event. You’ll probably want to use premultiplied- dirty.

How about using the time code generator as per Spots recommendation in a post above? Window burns are typically used for this type of thing.
