What do you mean by “scroll down through my media clips” and how do you do it?

If you have grouping on and have the event that you are trying to Split grouped with another event that is under the curser, all events grouped will be split unless you have “Ignore event grouping activated or you can use the U (Ungroup)

Flix Pro 8 is a pretty pricey program to not allow you to move it to another computer as MOST programs will as long as you don’t use more than one at a time. Hard to believe.

You need to have the latest version of Quicktime on your computer for Vegas to use to open it.

I have used DVRack to capture directly to an external HD attached to my laptop. This eliminates the ‘real time’ step of recapturing the footage from tape (in my case)to my editing computer. I just take the HD and remove it from the laptop and attach it to the editing computer. Just for information I use FW connections and during capture my cam is daisy chained to the HD which is attached to the laptop as I only have one FW port on the laptop. Works perfectly. I have captured 2 1/2 hour conferences strainght through without a burble. (technical term!)
Have never tried capturing straight to Vegas (without the DVRack) and I don’t know why.

One thing this does is save wear and tear on the camcorder. I do it without a tape zand the internal mechanics are not running. Just using the lens system. Of course a tape back up might be useful but I would have to change the tape every hour.

Yes, turned off theme support in Vegas preferences and problem went away. Thanks. Searched but could not find this solution before.

You could use a velocity envelope.

    Mike,
The help file shows that they should be there but that whole bottom section (drag bar) is not there and is replaced by a black bar. When I click in that black bar strange things happen. Things resize, things move and it seems random.
How do you use the mouse for zooming and unzooming?

I have gotten the vob to work. Don’t really know how I did it. Did not have to change anything, just a new day.

    Mike,
I’ll try that when I get home tonight.
