Can you highlight that section and do a render to new track? How does that look?

You havn’t said how long the project is or if it is SD or HD.
You might try rendering the time line to a new track.

The reddish frame is generally a sign of a corrupted event. You might try deleting and replacing the event.

  • A rule of thumb that I have heard some where (I think it was DSE) was to not have pic resolution larger than twicew the project res.
An easy (and free) way to do the resizing is to use Irfanview. It has a batch resizer.

If you set up the PiP positioning via track motion and use that track just for PiP then all you have to do is drop the event you want in the PiP window onto that track in the correct postion on the time line and the PiP will be already formed.

  • Don’t know about your bogging down but to streamline the closing of the gaps just click on the auto ripple icon. As soon as you delete the offending section all the events to the right will automatically close the gap.

  • Try Super. Very easy program to use. Very difficult program to find the download link on their site.

If you render in Vegas to Main Concept DVDA compliant MPEG2 video stream and audio to AC3 then DVDA should not have to rerender it. For a 70 min video you should be able to use 8,000 000 CBR setting but its always good to check with a bit rate calculator when you start to get over an hour.

DVDA will rerender if your video is too long to fit, or if it isn’t DVDA compliant. This is the way to keep the best quality.

There is probably an easier way but you could select the gap by double clicking on it, then right click and insert empty event, then with auto ripple on delete that event.
