Hey all, this is my first post here, so hi 🙂

I’ve been working on a Halo video in Sony Vegas 8.0b for a few months now. The video is made up of 90% WMV’s but there are also JPEG’s AVI’s and MP3’s in there.

Anyway, when i finally finished the long editing process i go to render for this first time, i have been trying to render this out for a few weeks but haven’t posted anywhere yet. At a certain point along the time line, rendering percentage may freeze or get an unexpected error. The Video is/was going to be entered into a film festival in 2 weeks.

I have tried lowering the thread count and what not.

Also, at the point where it freezes (which varies A LOT) i can individually render out the section alone.

I have tried all different formats and sizes, but nothing. I have a very decent computer so i can;t imagine it being anything wrong with that.

    usual questions:

    – where are you rendering to? lots of space available?
    – any nested vegs?
    – could render in smaller sections, to AVI, using a lossless codec, then compile a master project with these sections and render final
    – tried copying all media from current project into a new one?

am sure other suggestions to follow

You havn’t said how long the project is or if it is SD or HD.
You might try rendering the time line to a new track.

Project is under 5 minutes. I have tried to render in HD but failed, sorry, what does SD mean?

What size are the JPGs you are using?
