Activity Forums VEGAS Pro removing a gap affecting only one track

This is a very simple question.
Whenever I need to remove an empty space between two clips in the timeline, I click on it. Once the empty space is selected, I press delete and it disappears. Depending on the Auto Ripple option being activated or not, the clips behind it move forward or stay where they are.
But the problem is that by clicking on the empty space, all the tracks (video and audio) in the timeline are also selected. So once you press “delete”, the selected part of the timeline is also removed from the rest of the tracks. This is obviously quite dangerous, because it changes tracks that do not need to be changed. So my question is: how can I delete a selected part of the timeline affecting only the tracks that I need to change?

I know that with Avid you can just select the track that you want to work on, and the other tracks remain unchanged. Can we do this with Vegas?
    Thanks so much,

    Jorge

There is probably an easier way but you could select the gap by double clicking on it, then right click and insert empty event, then with auto ripple on delete that event.

Thanks a lot for your reply, Terry!
That way to do it is simple and fast enough for me!
    Thanks again,

    Jorge
